Morgan was a featured actress as a woman in the AIDS prevention and education video Safe Sex for Men and Women. The proceeds from the film were given to American Foundation for AIDS Research. Morgan is a member of the Entertainment Industry AIDS Task Force. Morgan was the primary driver behind many fund-raising campaigns for this disease. She also addressed a Congressional special committee on AIDS education. Morgan is a part of the Board of Governors of APLA and Amfar's Board of Directors. C. Everett Koop's previous assistant surgeon general asked occasionally to substitute for him at AIDS awareness events. Additionally, she was host of a AIDS Awareness Special presented by Steve Bell. Ted Koppell and Morgan have appeared on Nightline twice to discuss AIDS. Morgan has won the Emmy Award for Diane English's exclusive Murphy Brown episode that was written just for Morgan. The spring season saw Morgan co-starring with Joan Rivers as Your Money or Your Wife on ABC TV. In the following week, she kicked off her summer season by appearing in Murder At The PTA Luncheon which was produced by Von Zerneck/Sertner. It also had Cindy Williams and Marla gibbs. Morgan's next production took Morgan to Luxembourg to star in Harmony Gold's production of Sherlock Holmes and the Leading Lady that also featured Christopher Lee and Patrick McNee. Morgan has also been the only actress to appear in the thriller on USA Network's psychological suspense, which garnered some of the highest ratings that they have ever seen.
